As a bonafide horror buff, I rented Gothika under the impression that anything containing supernatural horror, Penelope Cruz, and Halle Berry-would be nothing less than a thrill. Much to my chagrin, the movie is slightly less than thrilling. Entertaining, yes. Creepy in parts-yes. Thrilling-no. …

In 1996 the novel The Infinite Jest was published, ranked by Time magazine as one of the hundred best English-language novels of the twentieth century. A day before watching the movie “Inception” by Christopher Nolan (the director of the Dark Knight trilogy) something happened to me very strange - I dreamed that I dream about dreaming. The next night I barely slept. I say all this because normally I have troubles sleeping and this …

This is a tough one. Bright cast, and comedy done in the style of Mel Brooks’ comedy, prevalent during the 70s, this film showed great promise. But for me, while quaint, this film did not deliver on it’s character expectations.
The story centers around Segerson Holmes, jealous older brother of …

Wow, what can you say about this little “masterpiece” of Christian cinema? The premise is pretty simple: a man from the 19th century travels through time to the beginning of the 21st century and is amazed by how immoral and corrupt and violent the world is. His …

Taking up for watching “Monster” I was hoping that it will be explosive combination of “The way” and “District 9″. So I was hoping for poetic road movie, as confirmed in the post-apocalyptic mood, which would become the matrix for an ambitious aesthetic, making a problems, science fiction story. …

As an animation enthusiast I am in love with what companies like Pixar do. In my opinion Cars is one of their greatest creations.
When Cars first hit the theaters it was my must see movie of the year. I am by no means a child on the outside, but …

The patriot is one of the best movies that I ever watch. This movie is based on the struggle of poor Americans against the mighty British Empire. The struggle was a success and hence it makes the movie a must see to learn the art of impeccable planning.

No one is more surprised than I am that Underdog is actually a good little movie. As a rule, I don’t like remakes or re-thinks that mess with the history of something I loved as a child, and I did love watching the Underdog cartoons as a kid.
Underdog …

I am not too proud to admit that I thought this movie would be a piece of garbage. But I was sooo totally and completely pleased with how this movie was made. Thinking that it would be a convoluted and cartoonish remake of the original thriller, …

His stand …

As someone who loved the original, The Legend of Zorro was a hugely disappointing sequel. The scenery was still beautiful and I still liked the main actors, and the humor still made me laugh, but the magic was lost. The dignity of the first was abandoned in …

I watched the DVD of Two Weeks Notice starring Sandra Bullock and Hugh Grant the other day and there could not have been a better duo for their roles than them. It’s basically a movie story about serving your troublesome boss and after some time feeling that you have …

The 40 Year Old Virgin was surprisingly good. I thought it might be just a dumb comedy, but it was a comedy with heart and some intelligence. Steve Carrell plays the titular character without become a caricature. Sure he does some nerdy things like collect huge …

I’ve seen this movie a couple of times now; it’s decent. I don’t think it’s one of those movies that you think of and then you HAVE to see it, but it’s a pleasant movie to watch if it happens to be on.
Some of the acting is pretty good, …
