We decided to rent the fourth Final Destination movie The Final Destination on Saturday. I’m not sure why we thought it would be as good as the first two (or even the crappy third one), but it proved to be somewhat of a mistake.
The movie had a plot that …

This movie is a story about some highly educated and intelligent college kids from MIT that decide to take on the blackjack tables in Vegas using there mathematical skills along with dedication and hard work! The great appeal for me in this movie is the fact this really happened …

After his belated return to his roots with Land of the Dead a few years prior, Romero turns prolific once more with Diary of the Dead; an interesting take on the genre with a hand held, documentary tactic employed perhaps most famously with Cloverfield.
It’s an interesting idea, and …

I saw that Mena Suvari (of American Beauty) and Breckin Meyer were in this offbeat comedy. I thought it would be more about a diner with quirky characters. But it’s actually about a trendy looking café in London with quirky characters. The story itself …

A wealthy, ruthless TV executive is the focus of this modern day remake of the classic tale of the story of Scrooge. As the story goes, this person is cold hearted and career driven to the point that no one likes to be around him yet alone work with …

This ‘Sexy Beast’ movie was recommended to me by a friend who usually has good taste in films. He was right, I really loved it. Gangster films are not usually my thing but I thought this film was really special and can only partially be classed as …

On the whole, Horror is a genre that avoids the avant-garde, particularly the films that Hollywood produces. The Conjuring is little exception to this lack or experimentation.
The film explores issues and themes pertained to countless horror films before it; the main premise being that of a family moving …

I have just came back from the theater having watched this film, I must let you know , all my friends and I laughed our lungs out through out the length of the movie, surely what we did might have disturbed those sitting around us. Well, I was really …

This quirky little movie stars one of my favorite actresses, Natasha Gregson Wagner. There is something insipid and coy about the roles she tends to play. And her stuffy, rebellious role of “Violet” in this movie is no different. This film is sort of a cat …

I recently saw the movie “V for Vendetta“. This film takes place in London in the near future. The United States has fallen apart and England is now run by a totalitarian government which seeks to control every aspect of the citizens lives. Coming on to …

I watched Dus on TV. It released last year in 2005. This film is directed by Anubhav Sinha. The movie is an action film. The action sequences are good but what is missing in this film is a proper story line. The story line is really stupid. The director, …

A war story by the poetic filmmaker Terrence Malick. He created the visually stunning films Days of Heaven and Badlands back in the 1970s, then he didn’t make a film until his come back with this film more than 20 years later. I don’t think it is as engaging …

For some reason, my husband loves “Waterworld.” I love my husband, but I loathe and detest this film.
It’s hard to believe that this 1975 cinematic “messterpiece” was one of the most expensive movies ever made. Maybe they spent a lot of the money on the sets …

Sinbad was sent to find the legendary ‘Book of Peace’ that he was accused of stealing. The person that accused him of the crime was the person who framed him, that person is the same person who gave them the book in the first place, the goddess of chaos …

Sad, Heartwarming and Hopeful

This must have been a good movie because it evoked so many emotions from me. The setting and the characterizations were incredible. Leonardo is as always beautiful in it. The thing I hated was when she was on the door or whatever at the end and she says ‘I’ll …

I recently caught this Spanish movie Pan’s Labyrinth. A “fairy tale” set in the backdrop of WW2, in the mountains of Spain where the Facist regime was trying to stamp out the rebellion and the Allies were waging war against the Nazis in Europe.
The fairy tale line is about …

What many people do not understand is that there are two versions of “Dawn of the Dead”. There is the one from 2004 which I have based my review on, and then, there is the one from 1978 which I have not watched. Dawn of the dead (2004) …

Although I feel you might be able to add “four dimensional” components such as motion and interaction with live objects simultaneous with the viewing of the film, the Omnimax provides what I consider the bets visual and audio experience possible.
I’ll get the sound out of the way because it …

I honestly think there should be a law against Hollywood basing a movie off of a classic piece of literature and then making a film that doesnt resemble the book at all.
Bram Stoker’s The Mummy is based off of his book The Jewel of the Seven Stars. While I …

On the whole, I liked this film. It is kind, heartfelt, sincere, and even touching in some places. But the plot is not devoid of sins, clichés, and too simple script decisions. I know that the movie is based on a novel by Jack London. Let me tell you right …

Eden Lake is one of those films that you’re really going to get into right away. It starts off like any other film, with the obligatory couple going off to enjoy the wilderness alone and really have a great time. This couple heads to Eden Lake …

What is so great about “What Happens in Vegas” that made it such a huge …

I was a little hesitant to watch the movie “Still Alice” because I thought that a story about someone experiencing early onset Alzheimer’s Disease was bound to be too frightening and depressing for me. The idea of losing myself and my memory especially at a young age is one of …

I saw Tyler Perry’s Why Did I Get Married?” a few years back and, although I don’t think it was a masterpiece, it was still an interesting look at husband-wife relationships.
When the sequel, “Why Did I Get Married, Too?” came out on dvd, I decided to watch it. To …

The first Fantastic Four was released in 2005, and it was successful. Surprisingly, after 10 years, creators decided to reboot the series.
