Shinobi is a japanese movie but depending on where you get it, it comes with english subs (in my case, thai and chinese were available also). Shinobi actually means ninja. It’s your typical movie of two ninja tribes going against each other but the boy and girl from different …

Time and again Citizen Kane gets selected as “the best film ever made” on different listings. There is so much to say about the genius Orson Welles’ debut film, but I’ll restrict myself to the most important points and my own view. The film is a very complex story …

When I was younger, I used to watch Sherlock Holmes a lot. I loved these movies, and they were on all the time. Then years passed and I’ve only seen it a few times. Oddly, I don’t seem to enjoy these mysteries as I once did, …

To be honest, I cannot imagine why nobody would not like this film. Love Affair is a remake of the Deborah Kerr and Carey Grant blockbuster, An Affair to Remember. In fact, some of my friends, pretending to be experts at good old Hollywood romances, had somehow …

After watching the movie “Hancock”, you will understand immediately while Will Smith expressed interest in interpreting this role. “Hancock” is a superhero movie without the superhero clichés. Endlight Entertainment’s Ninjas Vs. Vampires is not a movie that is meant to be watched alone. Don’t take that statement as this is the scariest movie ever made, although it does have a few jumps and some decent blood-spilling. This is a movie where you have some …

13 Going on 30 is a delightful comedy that has been done many times before, but still succeeds in getting plenty of laughs.
The movie is about a young girl, Jenna (Jennifer Garner) who goes to bed as an uncool thirteen-year-old and wakes up the next morning in an unfamiliar …

This is not your ordinary horror film. Based on some pretty heavy Biblical references, if you are not into supernatural themes, you will get really bored with this one. That being said, Hilary Swank gives a believable performance in this thriller. This isn’t the type of …

Robin Williams has been starring in some really interesting films lately. First there was “One Hour Photo” in which he played a lonely psychopathic photo developer. That movie was jarring because you never think that a person who serves others in the community on a regular …

It’s the time of the year when film companies campaign for their best movies before the Oscars. I looked everywhere in the weekend papers as well as online finding the distracting line ‘for your consideration.’ Although I was not the intended target for those ads, I considered …

Glorifying the American Girl from 1929 purports to be under the direct supervision of the legendary Florenz Ziegfeld. There were lots of showgirls in this motion picture to satisfy that Rockette feeling, too. Even today, the line of girls doing those high leg kicks are incredibly popular.
I …

Of course, I am neither a fan of films of the romance comedy genre, nor the popular romance actress Meg Ryan, but one day when I was very bored and nothing else was being aired on cable television, I decided to watch the movie “The Deal”. I had never …

I really enjoyed this movie. It’s advertised as kind of a “team” film, but it truly is Susan’s (Reece Witherspoon) movie.
The movie begins on Susan’s wedding day. As she’s heading into the church, she gets hit by a meteor which she actually absorbs into her body. …

“House Guest” was a movie I watched some years ago in my earlier years of high school. I can remember thinking at that time how I could have missed such a movie and wondering whether I should watch it or not since I had never found the African American …

I went to watch Strange Wilderness before with my best friend and we were just choosing it at random. The cast is pretty unknown to us except for Steve Zahn, which I couldn’t quite put a name to him. And if you are trying to find Bigfoot, you …

This film powerfully demonstrates how humans should never repress themselves. The protagonist courageously braves all criticisms and alienation to introduce to this rigid town, that one can act on human desire.
The town, despite its extremeness in following unwritten rules, exemplifies a lot of our societies. The protagonist, enviably shepherds …

Julia Roberts stars in this movie where for women, it’s about getting married and not necessarily school. It is an interesting portrait of the paths that different women take, such as marriage, working for a living, no marriage, birth control, etc. If some parts had been cut down …

Yet another great comedic masterpiece from the legendary comedian known as Mel Brooks, his style of in your face comedy is like no one else’s the you will ever encounter, his style is that of grace and timing without pushing for a laugh. In this movie, the main character …

Even before I have watched the movie I could tell that it was not goint to be anything serious. But I did not expect it to be as stupid as it actually ended up being. As a matter of fact I …

Cromartie High School is no ordinary school. It’s a school for delinquents. The most important subject is “fighting” and their biggest concern is “who the biggest badass is?” Everything they talk about is completely random and has nothing to do with school. You could say this anime is pointless, …

I thought that the movie The bounty hunter had all the makings of a good film. It had an interesting storyline and a few good actors Jennifer Aniston and Gerard Butler. However it did not come together. Most of the time I felt like the actors were looking at …

Yea yea, another one of those Sherlock Holmes spinoffs. By now can you really expect anything good out of them by now? Fortunately, after countless mind numbingly awful “reimaginings” of the world of Sherlock Holmes over the past few years (decades even), a movie finally got lucky and didn’t …

So after reading the books as many times as I have, of course I HAD to see the movies in theatres when they were released. Of course, I now own them all :D. The movies had amazing special effects, and excellent casting and costume staff. Each part was played …

As a Beatles fan, I put off seeing “Across the Universe” for a while-even when others raved about it-because it didn’t seem like any movie could really do justice to the music-and I’m including the movies the Beatles themselves actually made, with the possible exception of “Magical Mystery Tour,” …
