  • The dog was driving me crazy barking, and I thought he could use a distraction
  • But I literally got only five minutes of peace out of this toy, not to mention the dog ate a piece and I found it in his poop later even though I took it away as soon as I saw it was in bits
  • I would not recommend this Booda Dogzilla chew toy to anyone ever, even someone with a tiny dog
  • Even tiny dogs have teeth, and that seems to be the problem here

I recently bought a Booda brand ‘Dogzilla’ chew toy for my aunt’s dog when I was housesitting. The dog was driving me crazy barking, and I thought he could use a distraction. I needed to find a really strong toy, because this dog had some serious teeth. So, off I went to my local Walmart to shop for a good, strong chew toy. I came across a red, tube shaped rubber toy called a Booda Dogzilla. The toy had little rubber nubs and ridges on it, to stimulate the dogs gums while chewing. This Dogzilla

dog chew toy also claimed it would be “durable” and was a “strong rubber toy”, and was in my price range, so I tried it. “Durable and strong,” I thought, “this will be perfect!”

Strong my left foot! The dog this chew toy was given to weighs maybe 10 pounds, and the toy was rated for dogs up to at least 15 pounds, and yet he managed to chew right through the Dogzilla toy in under five minutes. The package says to give the dog a larger size for more of a challenge if this happens. More of ...

      • a challenge? I kind of expected that the first time around for my $5!

I am going to bring the package and toy back to the store where I purchased it (Walmart), and try to get my money back. I’m also probably going to actually call and compain to the Booda company, which is something I rarely do. But I literally got only five minutes of peace out of this toy, not to mention the dog ate a piece and I found it in his poop later even though I took it away as soon as I saw

        it was in bits!

I would not recommend this Booda Dogzilla chew toy to anyone ever, even someone with a tiny dog. Even tiny dogs have teeth, and that seems to be the problem here. Not such great craftmanship for a CHEW toy!! Fail! I would recommend getting a Kong toy; they are the best! They really are practically indestructible. I’ll never cut corners again, but Walmart didn’t carry Kong products, so I took a chance. Needless to say, I went to Petsmart immediately after the Booda debacle, and bought a Kong. Worked like a dream!
