The Wolfman is a remake of a film from the 40ies. It tells the tale of the actor Lawrence Talbot, who comes back to his fathers estate after many years abroad.

His brother is missing, and he has been asked by his brother fiancée to help with the search.

The day he arrives they find

his brothers body in a ditch.

During the search for the killer, Lawrence is bitten by the beast that killed his brother.

He survives, but at which cost he finds out at the next full moon.

The good: the actors are great.

Both Anthony Hopkins as the father and Benicio del Toro as Lawrence Talbot ...

      • are believable as men and monsters.

Hugo Weaving is a good Scotland Yard inspector, and the minor characters also deliver good role interpretations.

The bad: every now and then, the CGI is really bad.

The gypsies dancing bear for example, it doesn’t look alive at all.

There are some historical mistakes, London bridge is finished

before it should have been, and some weird sound effects, Hugo Weavings horse doesn’t make a sound when it gallops on a cobbled street.

Sometimes when it is supposed to be scary, it is more comical than frightening and the pacing is a bit uneven.

For a while, nothing happens, and then everything erupts in chaos.
