Never one to shy away from a new work out trend, I recently purchased the Carmen Electra Aerobic Striptease Fitness Collection. This series contains 5 DVD’s that feature dance warm ups and moves which come together to form the various routines performed on each disc.

The first disc, my favorite, is the Aerobic Striptease, and contains dance moves specifically chosen to tone the hips, thighs, buns, and abs all in a low impact workout. The first routine is at introductory level while the second one includes floor moves and is a little more advanced. I must admit the first time I tried the DVD; I made sure no one was home. Even though it is an actual workout, the stripper vibe can at times induce fits of laughter.

The second DVD is the Fit to Strip workout.

This is a more intense total body routine that gets you toned and tightened and ready to learn the more challenging moves. It is a cardio workout specifically designed to isolate, the buns, legs, arms, and mid-section. It is a progressive workout that gets harder the further you go. There are also three mini-fix workouts included to target the problem spots of the upper, lower body, and abs.

The third DVD is the Advanced Aerobic Striptease. This DVD builds on what you have already learned, gives you new routines to learn, and also introduces costumes and role play. Specifically, it features a sexy librarian routine, complete with glasses and a pencil to be pulled out of your hair. I have yet to meet anyone resembling Carmen Electra in a library though, but okay Carmen the glasses are a ...

      • nice touch.

The fourth DVD is the Lap Dance disc. This DVD is designed to improve muscle and flexibility. It is broken down move by move so you can master each step and make it your own. It is more advanced than some of the previous DVD’s and really shouldn’t be attempted until you have the other ones down pat.

The last DVD is the Hip Hop disc. Hip Hop is a serious workout that features popular dance moves in addition to some of the moves you have learned over previous discs. It wasn’t a bad workout but I preferred the aerobic discs more to this one.

There are some nice features included on each DVD. There is an audio option that allows you to change the style of the music tracts so you become less

bored with the routines. Also, they have something called a Heads up Display, which offers tips while you are performing the exercises. One nice feature tells you how much time you have left and at anytime you can hit the menu and skip right to the specific routine you want to do, or even with or without instruction.

I enjoyed this workout series a lot and would highly recommend it to anyone that prefers dance to regular workouts. There were enough discs and routines to keep it interesting and the steps were easy to follow. None of the moves were all that difficult yet you could feel your muscles later and know that you had a decent workout. While some of the stripper suggestions seemed silly, I had a good time and that says a lot about a workout.
