For those of you who can’t get enough of VH1’s Celebrity Fit Club, you may be interested in experiencing Harvey Walden’s No Excuses Fitness Workout for yourself. Harvey Walden, as you may already know, is the show’s tough as nails fitness expert and a former Marine Drill Instructor. He’s the one solely responsible for whipping the flabby, coddled, celebrities into lean, mean, and no excuses machines. What you may not know, is that his fitness program may actually be life changing as it helps you to become healthier, stronger and mentally ready to tackle any challenge thrown at you. Drawing heavily from his years of Marine training, Harvey’s program may just be the kick up the backside needed to get many fighting fit.

Essentially this plan has three main

stages, a beginner, intermediate and advanced stage. Each stage consists of warm ups, cardio, strength training, and cool down stretches. Before undertaking his program you are first asked to commit to a weekly workout plan that is 4 sessions, for thirty minutes. You are also to include 1 day to plan and shop for the meals, as well as a daily weigh in which will be logged in.

Once committed to a workout plan you must then set up your workout journal. In this journal you are to keep track of the dates and times of the workout session, how much effort it took, your mood before and after the workout, and also your weigh in results. You are also asked to keep a food diary of every food ...

      • and beverage consumed as well as your personal assessment as to how your week went.

Once you are all set you are then ready to begin the first stage of the plan, Get Off your Butt. This workout routine is to be performed 4 times a week for 6 consecutive weeks. Next, you enter stage two of the plan, “Now you are in for the Fight”. This stage is progressively harder and the exercises are performed for longer times. In stage three, or Ooh Rah, the exercises are more advanced but if you have made it this far you can do it. For anyone feeling gym deprived Harvey has a bonus gym section which features his favorite exercises using traditional gym equipment.

No fitness plan would be complete without

a nutritious eating plan. The fight the fat plan features potion control and a low Glycemic index diet, a list of recommendations, and a few low GI recipes. Ultimately, the eating plan recommended a style of eating rather than an actual menu.

In all, the No Excuses Fitness Workout combines cardio, strength training, low Glycemic eating, and a ton of motivation put to you as only Harvey can. This workout requires no special equipment, save for a stop watch, and can be done comfortably at home. Moreover many of the exercises and techniques shown here have been used for years by the military to get their people in top condition fast. When followed as directed, this plan may be just the motivation you need to change your body and your life.
