I had the chance to catch this movie on TBS. It was really really entertaining.

I am very much in awe of how actor Sean Penn is able to channel

the mannerisms, feelings, and traits of a mentally challenged adult male.

The tenderness that he displays with his eyes, and with the delivery of his lines is simply amazing.

Dakota Fanning makes it really easy to believe this father/daughter relationship.

      • One thing that I was slightly annoyed with was Michelle Pfeiffer’s character.

While I typically like her acting, I found her to be a bit contrived in this movie.

Perhaps that was done on purpose so as to contrast Penn’s

But I thought that her role needed more compassion, and less “Hollywood glamour.

” Anyway, the story moves along at a reasonably comfortable place.

And like most movies of this caliber, there is a satisfying ending.

        I liked it a lot.
