  • While PayPal representatives are not available at this time (I tried calling them, as the problem sprouted from their division), American Express representatives were available at this time
  • I also noticed that with other card companies, office hours were limited or questions would be answered in 2-4 days, which was unhealthy for the individual with the urgent financial emergency
  • I was not only impressed with the articulate and upbeat nature of the customer service representative I had this time, but also his ability to resolve my issue in a calm manner, while I was more histrionic
  • Perhaps it was the fact the American Express customer service office is located in a different country, where it is in fact day time, but regardless, I receive an adequate level of attention, and the right amount to solve the issue that I was having
  • If looking for a prepaid gift card service or company for bulk orders, or for individual orders, I would most definitely recommend American Express, even if it just on the sole basis of the customer service that I received today

      I don’t know if it is the structure of our economic system, or if I am just an unlucky person, but I have an unremitting need for support or help with the various issues I encounter while using my debit account, or while making internet transactions. With that being stated, I have had countless encounters with customer service representatives for American Express. I can say without a doubt that each representative I have had the pleasure to come into contact with has been insightful, helpful, and eager to help me find a solution for my often atypical problems.

      I just called American Express at 11:11 p.m, in efforts to resolve an issue with my PayPal account. While PayPal representatives are not available at this time (I tried calling them, as the problem sprouted from their division), American Express representatives were available at this time. The fact that the company offers a 24/7 customer service program shows its commitment to its customer base, and its commitment to providing job hours for its employees. I


      also noticed that with other card companies, office hours were limited or questions would be answered in 2-4 days, which was unhealthy for the individual with the urgent financial emergency. With American Express, I was pleased that although many people are sleeping at this time, the customer service representative that was assigned to my “case” was very informative, awake, and upbeat.

      I was not only impressed with the articulate and upbeat nature of the customer service representative I had this time, but also his ability to resolve my issue in a calm manner, while I was more histrionic.       One of my only complaints was the fact that during the verification process of one of my accounts, I had to listen to him repeat the letters of my name using ...


      • the method where you repeat the letter, and then associate it with a name or object ( like “A,” as in “Adam,” and “B,” as in “Bob.”) I became extremely bored and distracted because I have an unusually long name. However, I suppose that it was standard procedure to go through this process for accurate verification. This brings me to another point: the fact that the representative (even if it was required) put in so much effort to make sure the account was accurately in place, made me feel very calm (and he had a cool accent this time!).

        When you call a company, you come to expect great customer service and hope that you’ll receive the best help available to you, but this is not always the case. My problems were quickly resolved and I went on to make my online purchase.

        This is not the first time that I have been impressed with American Express. Before I was old enough to have an account with them, I was given several gift cards

        for various birthdays, holidays, and family gatherings. Although American Express gift cards can be both from American Express or Simon gift card services, each time that I needed to activate my accounts or check balances, the customer service representative was able to provide me with the correct information, send information on where the card was able to be used, and register the card properly for online purchases.

        During these times, it is hard to find people that are willing to help you solve your problems. This is prevalent in the customer service needed when you are questioning an internet service provider or computer manufacturer. You want clear and direct answers to your various complex problems. I received this with American Express over the 4 times that I have had the pleasure of requesting information or conducting card registration with the customer service representative.

        If looking for a prepaid gift card service or company for bulk orders, or for individual orders, I would most definitely recommend American Express, even if it just on the sole basis of the customer service that I received today.
