This show is so good when it makes fun of itself and classic western moments. This opens up with Brisco County (Bruce Campbell) ready to showdown with some bad guys. Right in the middle of the face off, a boy rides up on a bike to deliver a telegram. The whole

bit is crazy, fun, and delightful.

In The Adventures of Brisco County Jr.: Riverboat, Socrates Poole ends up in jail after being taken by a riverboat gambler, a man who is part of John Bly’s gang. It’s up to Brisco to get Socrates out of jail and then continue her pursuit of Bly and ...

      • his gambling outlaw.

In truth, this show has a lot of violence in it. I’d forgotten how much was contained within its framework. It’s truly big on action, both by gun and by fist, among other things. It’s a little too much, but the saving grace is that it’s not gory.

        It’s pretty clean fighting.

This episode ends up being done a bit like The Sting where Brisco sets up a scam to get the villains. It’s pretty intriguing, and what I like about it is that it’s a different setting. A change of pace isn’t bad every now and then.

All in all, it had its moments.
