The episode title makes it pretty obvious what the conflict of this story will be. In The Adventures of Brisco County Jr.: Socrates’ Sister, Iphigenia, the sister of Socrates Poole (Christian Clemenson) arrives in town to defend one of the men accused of murdering Brisco’s father, along with a bunch of other crimes. Stereotypically, she’s allowed personal feelings to cloud reality

and she ends up making a fool out of herself.

The best scene of the hour was when Comet the horse had been taken by the bad guys, who had left Brisco and a much less confident Iphigenia behind. Brisco told Comet he’d catch up with him, but when Comet sees a picture of a special underwater suit in a newspaper, he grabs ...

      • the newspaper in his mouth, bucks off the outlaw rider, and heads back to find Brisco. It’s just hysterical. I was laughing out loud. I love this horse.

This show is at its best when it combines not just drama and comedy, but the science fiction and futuristic elements to it. I missed that a little in the last episode

and at the beginning of this one. Without out the unique blend, this becomes just a western parody, and when it does that, it fails.

Judith Hoag does a good job as Iphigenia Poole, and William Russ is convincing as the outlaw Jack Randolph. I also enjoyed Yvette Nipar as Ellie. She recurred a few times in this series in a very minor role.
