The General Electric stove top, oven, and microwave combination is an ideal space saver for small kitchens even though it is full size and full capacity, two and a half feet wide. There’s plenty of oven space for a full Thanksgiving meal, turkey, nutbread, baked

yams and warming plates all together; and four large surface units for the mashed potatoes, vegetables, gravy, and giblets.

But the real bonus is the microwave oven, which is located over the stove top.

Next to the microwave, also at eye level, is the ...

      • console that operates the conventional oven, the stove top units, and the microwave.

All of the controls are clearly labeled.

The units heat very fast and very hot, so if you want to simmer something, you will want to put the setting on “warm,”

and to remove from heat you have to move the pan from that burner.

This is the only drawback to this appliance: it is electric and therefore does not offer the control that cooking with gas provides.

But for an electrical cooking unit it is excellent.
