  • I don't think the scenes with Fone Bones's cousins in the bar in Barrelhaven are as good as the scenes with Fone Bone, Thorn and Thorns grandmother
  • I prefer the drawings from outside, as I think the black and white is used very effectively to show the surroundings and especially the difference between for example the dark inside of house and the lighter outside

“Eyes of the Storm” is the third book in Jeff Smith’s Bone series. It is a reward winning black and white comic series about the Bone cousins.

This book starts with both the hero Fone Bone and the heroin Thorn having strange dreams.

Fone Bone has been reading Moby Dick so he

dreams about being on Captain Ahab’s ship; it’s a really great dream, ending with a wonderful drawing of the Red Dragon.

Thorn dreams about something that’s not really set in time, it could be the past or some possibly future.

This is one of the things I really like with the series; ...

      • things aren’t necessarily explained very in detail so the reader is left to wonder.

The scenes with rain and bad weather are also very good effective; you can feel the rain and really connect with the feeling of being wet, lost and miserable.
