  • The thing I like about the Ore Ida extra crispy crinkle fries is that they come in a zipper-like bag, and there is a dotted (precut) line that allows you to open the bag without bothering with scissors or a knife if you to choose to open things that way
  • I just don't bother anymore, so I decided to use the deep-frying instructions

I’m a loyal customer when it comes to purchasing potato products by Ore Ida. I especially like their shredded hash browns, but I have not had the pleasure of trying their French fries. When it comes to store bought French fries, I’m not fan because the test kitchen ovens the company have and my kitchen oven are different and don’t cook the same. What they believe taste good in their kitchens, don’t necessarily taste good in mine. However, I wanted to give the Ore Ida extra

crispy crinkle fries because I haven’t had crinkled fries in a long time.

The thing I like about the Ore Ida extra crispy crinkle fries is that they come in a zipper-like bag, and there is a dotted (precut) line that allows you to open the bag without bothering with scissors or a knife if you to choose to open things that way. The bag doesn’t give an exact number as to how many fries are in the bag, but it’s enough to last me a month–depending on how often I find myself eating the fries.

For me, there is nothing worse than oven baked fries because they never turn out the way I want them to. They either come out burned to a crisp or too soft or cold even. I just don’t bother anymore, so I decided to use the deep-frying instructions. I didn’t want to use my new deep-fryer because I would have had to take time to read over the directions because no one like their house being burned down ...

by their own negligence. So I decided to heat up a pan of oil and use a thermometer for the correct temperature.

I let the fries cook for about ten minutes because I wanted them to be crispy. I had a chance to sample one that had come straight out of the oil and it was hot. It was the perfect level of crispiness that I wanted, and the inside was filled with tender, sort of flaky potato. I added a little salt for extra flavor,

and my handy-dandy ketchup. The taste of the fries reminded me of when I would go to old-fashioned burger joints with my mom and we would get the same crinkle fries.

Overall, I liked the Ore Ida extra crispy crinkle fries because they were good and reminiscent of the past. I loved the crispness of the fries, and their tender potato center. They were easy to deep-fry, I liked the zipper seal bag, and the bag is easy to store. A win-win for anyone who likes crinkle fries.

they are tasty yet too oily and when fried they are thick not thin, I prefer thin potato
