  • Tolkien might not have been the best artist, but I really like the way he uses lot of colours and patterns
  • There's not really a plot but there's lot of clever dialogue between Father Christmas and the North Polar bear, and I think everyone who liked Tolkien's other works like the Hobbit will like it

The Father Christmas Letters are a collection of letters that Tolkien wrote to his children when they were young, they are either from Father Christmas or one of his helpers and tell about the preparations for Christmas and everyday life on the North Pole. They are filled with Tolkien illustrations and

strange writings, as the three main writers all have quite distinctive handwriting.

There’s a “translation” in normal text, I didn’t really need it but as the writing can be hard to decipher this is nice touch.

I think it is a very nice Christmas book.

It is written long before the ...

      • pressure to buy and shop wildly came, so it has a real Christmas and holiday feeling to it.

As they are written for children, it is lot of childish incidents.

Especially the North Polar bear and his cubs are the centre of the mischief.

There are some really nice illustrations.
