My husband and I were looking to celebrate our anniversary with a nice quiet weekend at the beach. We didn’t have a lot of money to spend at the time so we scoured the internet for for affordable hotels in Pensacola. We found a small place called Paradise Inn which appeared to fit our needs and our budget.

The website claimed it was family owned and operated, the rooms had been recently remodeled, and even had it’s own restraunt on the premises. At a mere $79

a night(during October)it seemed like we had indeed found a little piece of paradise.

Unfortunately, that did not turn out to be the case. We were ignored at the check in desk by the only attendent who appeared to be on a personal phone call.

True to the website promise, the room was freshly painted, but that’s about as far as the “remodel” went. The furnishings and flooring were dated and the room had a musty smell.

The cleanliness left something to be desired. There was ...

      • sand built up in the corners of the room, the towles were thin and scratchy, and the bedsread smelled like an animal had been laying on it.

This hotel does allow pets. The final straw was the band that began playing right outside our window at the “onsite restraunt”, which turned out to be little more than a bar.

The band was not actually bad, but they were so loud that we could not even hear the television. They played for 5 hours-beginning at 7pm and

        going strong until midnight.

I was so frustrated that we asked for a different room away from the band but we were told there were none available. We ended up not spending any time at all in our room the next night between those hours.

I hope this review is helpful. If you are looking for a place to party and don’t mind the wear and tear and relaxed cleaning practices, this place might be a good fit.

However, if you are looking for a little paradise, keep looking.
