I got a huge kick out of Fireball XL5: Prisoner on the Lost Planet, which is one of 39 shows of the series created by Gerry Anderson. Some of the things I enjoyed about this episode:

Commander Zero is one of those

good tough guys. He likes to have a loud bark, but he’s really a softie. We see that side of him here.

Professor Matt Matic has created a new ‘toy’ on which Space City receives a message from uncharted space for help. Naturally, off goes the XL5 to check it out. There’s a cute bit early on with Matt and Venus both being asleep while Steve is flying the rocket, a little regretful of all the quiet.

was cool. I really prefer the simpler, more rudimentary special effects to the technoglitz we have in today’s science fiction shows and movies. Even the erupting volcano that looked like runny pudding was fun.

Best of all for me was a

jealous Venus. She wasn’t real excited over the way her Colonel Steve Zodiac was relating to the beautiful Amazon woman. She was just hysterical.

Prisoner on the Lost Planet was entertaining and comes recommended, as do all shows of this series, to be honest.
