While every other girl in the world was looking forward to New Moon I wasn’t sure what to expect. I found the first movie in the series Twilight entertaining but not worth all the fuss and the book was simple at best.

So I went in to see New Moon regardless of my hesitation. It

was an entertaining movie - just barely. The writing was average, a story lacking wit, banter and intelligence. However it was watchable, just not particularly engaging. This could be the primary reason it’s target audience is twelve year old girls.

I’m in two minds whether to recommend parents to take their children to see ...

      • this movie. On the one hand it is family friendly. It contains no sex, no drugs, no kissing and no swearing. Even the vampires eat animals not humans. On the other hand the main character Bella is a terrible example for young girls. She cries, she spends days in bed crying
waiting for boys to call her. When she’s not doing that she’s crying begging for Edward or Jacob not to leave her. When confronted by danger she looks blank and waits for someone to save her.

I can’t recommend this movie, it’s long, dull and you find yourself looking at your watch waiting for it to be over.
