  • The Blackberry Storm 2 has all of those features as a touch screen and it makes the handling a tad rigid, in my opinion, because those aforementioned buttons are so close to the bottom of the phone that it is difficult for the phone to recognize the command at times
  • One negative issue I have encountered with my Blackberry Storm 9530, however, is with the newest 5.0 software that appears to begin back in November 2009
  • Overall, I love the Blackberry Storm 9530, preferably over the Blackberry Storm 2, and highly recommend the product to those looking for endless application technology, organization and style while on the go

Blackberry devices have been on the rise in popularity, for good reason, over recent years and Blackberry continually releases newer, updated versions of their devices with software upgrades, advanced features and appearances. I have used Blackberry devices for years and will continue to use them as long as they keep making them. The smartphones, such as the Blackberry Storm 9530 and Blackberry Storm 2, with touch screen, browser connectivity, calendar and endless available applications specifically for your Blackberry device make daily living so easy. Not to mention a free e-mail account and access to pre-existing e-mail accounts directly to your smartphone while you are on the go!

I recently obtained a Blackberry Storm 9530 as well as a Blackberry Storm 2 for my personal use. Comparatively, there are small differences in the size, style and softwares on the two devices, but my preference lies with the Blackberry Storm 9530, because the touch screen and mode

buttons (talk button, Blackberry/menu button, back button, end call button) are separate from one another. The Blackberry Storm 2 has all of those features as a touch screen and it makes the handling a tad rigid, in my opinion, because those aforementioned buttons are so close to the bottom of the phone that it is difficult for the phone to recognize the command at times. Either Blackberry Storm phone would be well worth the money spent in order to create and maintain some order in everyday living, though, because the major aesthetics are the same, as well as the applications–minus the versions of software.

One negative issue I have encountered with my Blackberry Storm 9530, however, is with the newest 5.0 software that appears to begin back in November 2009. This issue regards the ‘full Keyboard’ in portrait view located in the ‘options’, ’screen/keyboard’ menu. There is a glitch in the 5.0 software for the ...

      • Blackberry Storm 9530 that does not allow you to use your dial pad to dial out using phone numbers that are not stored in your phone, programmed under your speed dial list or if you have your ‘language input’ set to ‘English - US’ or ‘English - UK’. However, if the language is set to ‘English’ the issue becomes resolved entirely and you are able to use your full keyboard in portrait view as well as dial out on your phone to numbers not already stored on your device.

Another quick fix that I have found for the keyboard glitch is setting your keyboard to ‘multi-tap’ or ’suretype’, but you no longer are able to use your full keyboard, unless every time you wish to dial out on your phone you go under your ‘options’ setting and change the keyboard style or your language input. Somewhat annoying, but a small issue that can be worked

around without sacrificing the overall functionality of the Blackberry Storm 9530, which is a wonderful and handy device.

This software glitch only appears to be a mild handicap for the Blackberry Storm 9530 so far, but many provider companies do not appear to be aware of the issues. Their resolve is to issue a new phone, but once the software is uploaded to that new device, the software glitches continue almost immediately. This seems to be the only negative aspect of the Blackberry Storm 9530 that I have encountered thus far. All of the applications and accessories (phone cases, hands-free devices, skins, etc.) that are available for the Blackberry device make it easy to individualize the phone than most other devices on the market, too.

Overall, I love the Blackberry Storm 9530, preferably over the Blackberry Storm 2, and highly recommend the product to those looking for endless application technology, organization and style while on the go.
