  • Frankly, the only one of these that has music I enjoy listening to is Molly as it contains some of the classic soft, gentle notes of the romantic elements from the story

      all reviews
Patrick Swayze, Demi Moore, and Whoopi Goldberg starred in the mega-hit romantic film, Ghost, back in 1990 and this review is centered on the Ghost soundtrack CD, which begins appropriately with the oh-so-endearing and tender Unchained Melody, sung by the Righteous Brothers. It’s the perfect number for the main song

of the film. It was already a hit song and had a tremendous resurgence when the movie was released.

The CD is broken down into just 8 tracks. After the vocalized version of Unchained Melody, it goes on with tracks labeled Ghost, Sam, Ditto, Carl, and Molly. Frankly, the only one of these that has music I enjoy listening to is Molly as it contains some of the classic soft, gentle notes of the romantic elements from the story. The vast majority of the rest of these scores are very downbeat, heavy, and unpleasant to listen to without hearing them ...

as background in the actual movie.

The 7th track is the orchestral version of Unchained Melody which is a delight to play. It’s light and full of love, which is what Sam and Molly have for each other. It’s a sweeping four-minute version of the song that’s very enjoyable.

      The end

credits are also pleasing to have it. It conveys the love story and some of the mystery and intrigue but without getting too heavy.

So, overall, I love the frame of this CD, but the tracks within it belong in the movie and not as songs to relax by or even exercise to.
