  • It’s an OK episode that brings closure to the story of Homer and his outlaw mom but it’s not an episode I recommend watching if you are looking for a show to brighten your day

Well, that was actually kind of a depressing episode of the Simpson’s last night; Mona Leaves-a. I tuned in expecting laughs and there were a few.

But, overall, I felt a bit saddened by it.

Homer’s mom returns to Springfield again.

This time, because she has faked her death, she is no longer

on the run and she wants to be a family again.

And, just as a reluctant Homer finally accepts her back, she ends up dying; leaving him feeling guilty (because he had said some hurtful things before she died) and responsible for figuring out what to do with her ashes (he eventually ends ...

      • up spreading them after making piece with his mother and realizing she loved him regardless of what he said to her).

Even Lance Armstrong’s cameo didn’t do much to brighten up this episode any.

Like I said before, there were some funny moments but they reminded me of someone telling a funny story

        at a funeral.

I mean, his mom just died.

How funny can the episode possibly be with a story like that?
