We bought this neat accessory during our last vacation in Branson, Missouri. Both my husband and I have grown to like scented candles that come in glass jars, and a common problem with them is that the wax burns out in the middle while sticking out to the sides of the jar. This is both unsightly and uneconomical,

since the candle gets used up faster. Illuma-Lid promised a solution. This nice-looking metal lid decorated with leafy pattern is to be placed on top of 22 oz and 14.5 oz jar candles, after the flame is lit. It is supposed to keep the airflow even, in such a way that the wax will burn evenly as well,

      • and the candle will last longer.

We brought the lid home and tried it right away. It works perfectly well: the candle burns in a neat manner, with wax melting away gradually, without sticking to the walls of the glass jar. Being made by Yankee Candle, the lid fits Yankee jar candles best, but it can be used with

other brands as well. We bought a cheap jar candle at Walmart, and while the lid does not lock on it, it still does the job while simply sitting on top.

The lid costs around $10. The metal gets hot after it sits on a burning candle for a while, so one needs to be careful with it when it’s in use.
