    • Item: Dave Chappelle’s Block Party (R, 2005) movie Location: by: Famous

This film really really made me jealous. It was so entertaining to actually see all of my favorite artists gathered together and hosted by one of the funniest people in the world, Dave Chappelle.

Dave simply organized a block party and invited various

people who had never experienced a rap concert before.

The party was held in Brooklyn, and appears to be filmed in somewhat “real time” (as far as the concert goes).

I like how Dave Chappelle so easily approaches and talks to strangers.

He has such a way with words, that he is able to make just ...

      • about anyone smile or laugh.

There aren’t many “jokes” per se.

The film is really about the experience that Chappelle is trying to put together.

So much of the comic relief is authentic.

The performances are gritty but engaging.

And the audience (TV, that is) gets a chance to meet

several anonymous and interesting people along the way.

Please note that this is not a COMEDY film.

        It is a concert movie.

Everything about the film is meant to be authentic.

So, if you think of it as a humorous, musical documentary then you will more than likely enjoy it as much as I did.
