Years ago, someone introduced me to the wonderful works of Erich Kunzel, director of the Cincinnati Pops Orchestra. He’s really quite good. Then the opportunity came along to enjoy Kunzel’s work along with a huge favorite of mine, Star Trek. With a spoken and dramatic introduction on

the Symphonic Star Trek CD, listeners are treated to Kunzel’s interpretation of Star Trek through the years. It even includes sound effects, like going to warp one and the alien probe, which is just ultra cool.

There are seventy-two minutes plus on this CD that goes from the original Trek ...

      • series up to the movie, Star Trek: Generations. The liner jacket talks a bit about what it took to put together some of these compositions.

For a Trek fan, Symphonic Star Trek CD is terrific. The music is so identifiable that we’re transported right into that magic place in

time where the action was occurring. With surround sound, this is ultra dynamic.

It is impossible to pick favorite moments because I truly love them all. Kunzel takes me into these movies and TV series. I’m there. That’s the best compliment I can give. It’s just awesome.
