Superior Thrift is a store for bargain hunters! I myself have been shopping at this thrift store off and on for ten years now. Superior Thrift is the place to go to find a vast assortment of products at a decent price. A lot of items are used, it is a thrift store afterall. However, there are also many new items. Some of these new items have been donated by private persons that just simply don’t want the item. Other products have been donated by stores, and lastly, “Superior Thrift” itself purchases new items in bulk to sell in their store. You can find mens and womens clothing–this includes nightware and underclothing; childrens clothing and toys, furniture, lamps and other home decor items, electronics, books, jewelry, hats, shoes, cookware, and other miscelaneous items.

Parking can be a problem at Superior Thrift. Many people shop at this store and the immediate parking lot is rather small. There have been many days where I have found myself needing to drive around and around the parking lot waiting for

someone to come out of the store and leave in order to park. In addition, people aren’t always the best drivers and there will be times where there will actually be a minor traffic jam in the parking lot. There is an overflow lot located accross the street but in order to get to it from the main lot you need to drive around the block. If you were to take a good look at the cars parked in the lot, you would see every type. Mercedes to Fords are parked here. The reason why I even mention this is to make the point that Superior Thrift draws in people who earn incomes that range on the high end, down to the lower end of the scale.

The store itself can become quite crowded. At times children will be playing with toys inside and even running and hollaring. When this happens workers or the store security guard must tell the parents to keep a closer eye on their children. At time you will find people ...

      • standing or sitting outside the store asking for money or cigarettes or whatever the case may be. Superior Thrift is not located in the most prestigous part of the town, and at the same time it’s not located in the most dangerous of areas either. It’s simply not a well-landscaped area of town.

There are dressing rooms to try on clothing. Using the dressing rooms is encouraged because the store has a no-return policy. Items are bought on an as-is basis. No store warranties are offered.

One reason why this store is so popular is that it runs ads in the local newspaper or other classified circulars. These ads include coupons. For example, you may find $5.00 off of any purchase over $20.00; or 1/2 off of every item that has already been marked down. (The store prices an item and then if it doesn’t sell after so many days, the price is reduced. It is this reduced price that 1/2 off is applied to.)

Getting back to prices, I have bought many tops for

$1.49 or $1.99. When a shirt reaches $4.99 then it is on the medium-high end of the price scale, in general. I have been able to purchase many popular name brand articles of clothing for rock bottom prices. Some have been new with the tag still on, others have been used items that are still in very good shape. If I had to go out and buy clothing at a department store, there is just no way I would have the amount of clothes that I have, and probably not the quality either. I’ve spent $3.99 on a new rayon dress. The prices are incredible!

To summerize, Superior Thrift is the place to go for bargains. If you are tight on money you are sure to find something that will fit your budget.

I have rated Superior Thrift a “7″ because it does have some minor drawbacks. These drawbacks I mentioned above. On the positive side, I don’t think you will find a thrift store anywhere with better prices on such quality items.
