It’s been a while since I last seen a Hefty Ultra Flex commercial, but it’s the main reason why I decided to switch over from my regular Hefty bags to the Ultra Flex bag.

I usually purchase the mid-size box that comes with a roll of bags; I can’t quite remember exactly how many bags are on the roll, but I my box lasts about three to four months. I try to recycle as much as I can, which saves me

      the extra bags.

One thing I did notice and that was true from the commercial is that the bags can hold a lot of trash. I don’t have to take out my trash until the end of the week because it holds so much weight. For example, I was giving away clothes and I was able to put almost two feet worth of clothes in the bag. The clothes varied from shirts to jeans to jackets. It didn’t rip or anything,

      • but I didn’t notice it was starting to pull.

Another thing I noticed that the commercial was not truthful about was it’s ability to be impenetrable. I had hosted a barbeque at my house one weekend, and I was cooking with wooden skewers on the grill. I soaked my skewers just like always so the wood wouldn’t dehydrate my food. Afterwards, people starting putting their plates away and I noticed wooden skewers sticking out of every which way they could out

of the trash bag. That was one of the things that appealed to me about the commercial, but apparently sharp ends can go through the bag.

The Hefty Ultra Flex bags are good for large amounts of trash, and heavy duty products you want to discard as well. As far as the bags being impenetrable, that part is not true. I wouldn’t put anything that has the ability to puncture holes in the bag. Other than that, it’s still a good investment.
