In the 22th volume of Nodame Cantabile, Nodame keeps rehearsing for her concert with Stresemann, while nobody else knows about her whereabouts, what makes Chiaki really worried while looking for her. Once they perform, everyone gets really impressed at her playing, making her known all over in the internet. However, after the concert she dissappears.

As expected of the second to last volume of this manga, it’s really exciting and filled

with unexpected events. It kept me really tense and wanting to go to the next page. Nodame has become really difficult to understand, as if she is still looking for her way in life but she doesn’t know how to react when she doesn’t know the path.

There are less funny moments than in the previous volumes, but I see that as a good technique to help to reach the ...

      • climax of the story in the next volume.

After Nodame dissappears, not only Chiaki, but Stresemann’s looking for her too, but she seems to be in Egypt for some unknown reason. She’s struggling about if she sould go on playing piano or not. In the end of the volume, when Chiaki is all depressed about Nodame’s being dissapeared, his father appears.

This is probably the volume that has kept me more

interested so far. Things happen quickly but even so at a good pace, and is well written to keep the reader there without moving from the chair. Nodame’s character has matured in her very own way, and it’s amazing how well it is pictured in the manga, making you really believe the character.

For a manga this long, the good rythm has been kept in all the volumes, and this one is not an exception.
