  • Nodame seem's to have withdrawal sympthoms of Chiaki the time they don't see each other, which was the funny part of it, but for the rest, you can feel her pain
  • Although what I usually enjoy the most about this manga is the funny moments, I admit that this twist in the story is keeping me really interested

In this volume of Nodame Cantabile the story focus mainly in the two main characters, Chiaki and Nodame. Chiaki performs a concert with Rui, and it’s exactly the song that Nodame was so excited and that really wonted to perform with Chiaki. Once Nodame listens to their performance she seems to be in a state of shock.

      This volume

is maybe the most angsty I have read so far. Nodame seem’s to have withdrawal sympthoms of Chiaki the time they don’t see each other, which was the funny part of it, but for the rest, you can feel her pain. Up until now she has been pictured as a funny character with some serious moments and an unpredictable mind, but in this volume she really demonstrates how unpredictable she can behave. Although what I usually enjoy the most about this manga is the funny moments, I admit that this twist in the story is keeping me really interested.

In the second part of this volume Nodame acts really weird about Chiaki and Rui’s performance, and even ...

proposes to Chiaki. He thinks that it’s a joke and leaves the apartment. It seems that it wasn’t a joke, and Nodame falls really depressed. By the end of the volume the old master Stressemann appears and asks her to perform with him conducting.

More and more angst. All Nodame’s moodswings make me really want to understand her, as

you never know when this character will make you laugh or make you worry. The story is written in a way that really knows how to not only catch your attention, but also traps you so you can’t stop reading it. The volume finished in such a tense way that I can’t help but needing to read the next one right away.
