Shades of Green is a wonderful hotel that I have personally had the pleasure to stay at many times over. It is located on Disney property at Walt Disney World, in Florida. The hotel has two mail buildings, the Palm and Magnolia.

They are named for the golf courses that are directly next to each building. Shades of Green caters to active, reserve, and retired military families, as well as DOD employees.

They have a few food eateries on site, and since it is a military facility, there is no tax charged on anything (rooms, food, or gift shop) on property. Another good thing about the hotel is that it sells discount Disney and other Orlando related attraction tickets.

If you ever want to stay there, you have to hurry because Shades of Green sometimes books up well in advance, mainly for the holidays, spring and summer breaks. The least busy time to try to get a reservation would be in September, January and February.

Rooms are based on the member's pay grade, but are affordable for everyone.
