  • It was filmed during the 1980s so there is a lot of big-feathered hair, leather belts with metal bits, etc. There is a lot of great slapstick in this movie and that's one reason I love it so much
  • I think it would be great for adults as well as children, but I don't exactly recall what the movie's rating was

This is a movie made by George Lucas. Truthfully, I didn’t know that George Lucas had made any other movies besides the Star Wars ones. The cover looked kind of strange, with this big duck on it and I was unsure what the movie was about. Anyway, I checked it out and I’m glad I did, as it is without doubt the funniest movie I saw in a long, long time! It also has lots of action, drama, kindness and some really terrific

characters. It was filmed during the 1980s so there is a lot of big-feathered hair, leather belts with metal bits, etc.

There is a lot of great slapstick in this movie and that’s one reason I love it so much. You know, people falling down and that sort of thing. I’ve always found that type of comedy hilarious for some reason. Yet it’s hard to find a good slapstick comedy, one that really makes you laugh. This movie succeeds in that way: I ...

      • was laughing like crazy at it, especially near the end where the police are chasing Howard the Duck in their squad cars and he’s in this small airplane. Very funny stuff!

This movie is also very unique. It’s a live action movie yet the main character is a human-sized white duck with an orange bill. He can speak English and everything. He was accidentally transported to Earth by some scientist’s astronomy gizmo that looks like a big telescope and he simply wants to go

home. On his world that we see at the beginning of the movie talking ducks are perfectly normal.

I also liked that this movie has a golden heart. It’s about helping people (even if they are very different than you) and about doing the right thing, even if the right thing means making a personal sacrifice. That lovely theme makes this movie a real gem.

I think it would be great for adults as well as children, but I don’t exactly recall what the movie’s rating was.
