  • Chocolate milkshake is one of my favourite drinks and I love the way the milk turns all brown and chocolatey
  • Like with most breakfast cereals, I like to heat the milk in the microwave just for 30 seconds to take the edge off the coldness of the milk, especially in winter, and this brings even more of the chocolate out
  • Although they do contain chocolate which is essentially a junk food, I think that Coco Pops must be healthier than some of the cereals available that are aimed at children

Kelloggs Coco Pops are basically puffed rice – exactly the same as Rice Krispies – except they are brown and chocolatey, made with chocolate and added calcium. I loved these when I was a kid and although they do contain chocolate they do have a lot of nutritional value in that an average serving will provide 25% of your recommended daily allowance of various vitamins, such as B6, B12, Riboflavin,

      Thiamin, Niocin and Folic Acid.

It also provides 17% of your RDA of iron and calcium.

Kids are going to love this so Coco Pops are a good way of sneaking some nutrition into their diet in a way that will appeal to them.

Now I am an adult, I still like buying Coco Pops now and then.

Just like regular Rice Krispies, they ‘snap, crackle and pop’ when ...

      • you pour the milk onto them.

        Coco Pops

do not absorb much milk and they are light so I like to pour a mountain of them into the bowl and I get a certain satisfaction out of stuffing a great big spoonful of them into my mouth and then munching away.

Although they do contain chocolate which is essentially a junk food, I think that Coco Pops must be healthier than some of the cereals available that are aimed at children.

    Galega says :

First thing is the fact that Coco Pops doesn’t contain Palm. What you have seen in the list of ingredients, is correct.

Then, coco is considered junk food in some countries and ideal nutrient in some other. If you don’t eat it regularly in heavy amount, it shouldn’t harm you.
