  • This shampoo was only $3 at the time of purchase, which is definitely a fair price, and is supposed to remove oil buildup and plump and thicken lifeless hair
  • It's so subtle that it tends to disappear a few minutes after the hair is dry, unless someone wants to bury their nose directly against your head, which I don't recommend, generally speaking
  • The shipping costs might kill me, but I have a feeling I wont regret it in the least

When I was born, I was my mother’s toe-headed little girl. I had very thin light blonde hair, and the texture and consistency of my hair has pretty much stayed the same throughout my life. My hair is also oily and that means that it’s also pretty lifeless. I can’t use any products in my hair like gels or styling mousses because it simply adds to my natural oils and weighs my hair down even more. Not only that, but about three years ago, I lost a great deal of weight in a very short amount of time, and because of that I actually lost some of my hair. I didn’t even know that hair loss was a side effect to sudden weight loss, but there you go. So, my already thin hair now looks like it’s not just thin, but that it’s THINNING. I can hardly do anything with it, and styling it with a curling iron or a perm (God forbid) is pretty much out of the question, because it will hold a curl for all

of about five minutes before falling flat all over again. I’ve tried a lot of different hair cuts and such over the years to try to add body to my hair, and though some of the hair cuts work a bit, they still aren’t enough. I hadn’t yet found a shampoo that did the job either, because I have to be careful about how heavy and oily a shampoo might be. Conditioners are out of the question, so I also need a shampoo that will treat my frayed split ends while also helping the oily consistency at the roots. A tricky problem, I assure you.

I order avon products all the time, at least once every other month (and not just one product at a time either, but many), and one of the products I recently purchad was the ADVANCE TECHNIQUES Body Building Shampoo. I was ordering a dandruff control shampoo for my husband (which he loves, and so does my youngest son who uses it as well), so I figured it was time for me to try out ...

      • a new shampoo as well. The pert I use is all well and good, but it still leaves me with lifeless hair. It may not look frizzy at the ends, which is a plus, but it’s still flat. This shampoo was only $3 at the time of purchase, which is definitely a fair price, and is supposed to remove oil buildup and plump and thicken lifeless hair. Sounded exactly like what I needed. The removal of oil was the selling phrase to me, and I was anxious to try it out.

The product smelled very nice without coming off as too perfumy, which I tend to steer clear of at all costs since it affects my sinuses too badly. I liked the smell enough that I actually thought it was a bit of a shame that it wasn’t longer lasting. It’s so subtle that it tends to disappear a few minutes after the hair is dry, unless someone wants to bury their nose directly against your head, which I don’t recommend, generally speaking. Let your husband bury his

nose in your hair and be content if he can smell it! It really did remove the oil buildup as well. My husband swore by the advanced techniques dandruff shampoo and now I’m swearing by this one as well. My hair is so thin and lifeless and this really gave it some shine without the oil, and gave it a bit of a playful bounce. It’s not a miracle shampoo obviously, and can’t add curl where there is non naturally or anything as dramatic as all that, but it does an excellent job giving you just enough body to see an improvement and that’s really all I was looking for to begin with. For the price, it really can’t be beat. I’ve had a tendency to purchase expensive salon shampoos that aren’t as nice as this one, and are far more expensive, so now that habit is gone for good. I’ll be buying a longer supply of this shampoo the next time around. The shipping costs might kill me, but I have a feeling I wont regret it in the least.
