  • I think I've ordered more Avon in the last ten years than any single person has in their entire lives (and that's assuming that single person is in their nineties
  • I wanted to try their wash-off waterproof mascara because it was heavily marked down and was only $2, but was supposed to still be a better quality than the drugstore versions you'd find for the same cost
  • I've even, in the past, spent upwards of $20 just for mascara before to have it smear all over my face like the cheaper ones, so I figured a $2 investment on this one wouldn't kill me and I couldn't consider it that big of a loss if it didn't work as well
  • I liked the product and, for that price, I'll definitely be ordering again
  • I don't wear mascara often at all, but when I do, especially if it's just for a couple hours for a night on the town, I know I can rely on it not to look horrible by the end of the evening, and still come off easily at night

I have long had an issue with mascaras. Too many times I’d buy a mascara that claims to be waterproof and then, within two hours at the most, I’m looking like a wet raccoon with it running all over my face an accentuating the dark circles I already have to contend with beneath my eyes. I’ve tried cheap drug store mascaras, and expensive department store mascaras, and they’ve almost always led to the same disastrous results. But, I’ve created, over the years, this sort of ridiculous obsession with avon products, their cosmetics especially, ordering them constantly trying to find the right one. I think I’ve ordered more Avon in the last ten years than any single person has in their entire lives (and that’s assuming that single person is in their nineties!). I had a co-worker, in my twenties, who used to sell Avon on the side, and she always had her little book with her, and I was always spending my entire paycheck ordering things from her. to say it was (and is) a

sickness might be simplifying the problem a bit. But, regardless, I still order regularly and have loved most of what I’ve tried through avon, especially the bath and body products, but the make-up products have been a hit and miss with me.

I wanted to try their wash-off waterproof mascara because it was heavily marked down and was only $2, but was supposed to still be a better quality than the drugstore versions you’d find for the same cost. I’ve even, in the past, spent upwards of $20 just for mascara before to have it smear all over my face like the cheaper ones, so I figured a $2 investment on this one wouldn’t kill me and I couldn’t consider it that big of a loss if it didn’t work as well. I was immediately entertained by the name of the mascara and the contradiction of a waterproof WASH OFF combination. That seemed to be a product that might very well work against itself because it has lasting properties but could wash off easily? Didn’t ...

      • make much sense to me, but perhaps they had some make-up mojo I didn’t understand. The tagline for this mascara was “the Streak-free mascara that will weather the weepiest of movies” and how can you not love a line like that? Especially if you like “weepy” movies as much as I do.

Heck, ever since I had my kids, I can get emotional and teary watching a hallmark commercial!

So, I gave it a shot, and applied it. I was surprised that it didn’t clump like ninety percent of the other mascaras I’ve tried in the past. It doesn’t have any magic lengthening properties, but it did accentuate the few short lashes I do have, and made them stand out nicely without looking clumpy. A lot of waterproof mascaras can become so crusted on your lashes that they begin to crumble off, and you can’t rub your eyes on accident without leaving black flakes of mascara all around your eyes and on your lashes. But this one didn’t dry up like that at all. Looked

nice for a long time after application. Not exactly wet, but not dry either. It really just looked like natural lashes, but darker. I loved that most of all about this product. I DID still encounter some raccoon effect after about five hours, but that’s still way better than anything else i’ve tried over the years. and that night when I came home and was ready to wash it off, i didn’t have to use an obnoxious eye-make up remover pad or anything to get it off. Washing it with soap water was sufficient enough and it was off completely, with no real harsh srubbing involved.

I liked the product and, for that price, I’ll definitely be ordering again. I don’t wear mascara often at all, but when I do, especially if it’s just for a couple hours for a night on the town, I know I can rely on it not to look horrible by the end of the evening, and still come off easily at night. Can’t go wrong for the price, even at it’s non-discounted price.
