Another revival of “A Christmas Carol”, Ghosts of Girlfriends Past is another foray into the classic Dickens tale. Matthew McConaughey plays Connor Mead is the successful playboy photographer who reluctantly returns to his childhood home for his younger brother’s wedding.

He loves his brother but thinks marriage an outdated and useless

formality and prefers the lothario life his uncle lived.

He meets Jenny Perotti, played by Jennifer Garner, and their feelings for each other resurface.

Both were childhood sweethearts before a lot of drama got between them.

Wackiness ensues as Connor’s cynicism seeps into the wedding party, and he is re-visited ...

      • by 3 ghosts of girlfriends past, present, and future.

He explores his experiences to discover his relationship fears and salvage what he could have with Jenny, before she moves into the arms of someone else.

This movie follows like any other Christmas Carol remake.

McConaughey and Garner play their characters to the

        hilt.

McConaughey is the smarmy yet charming playboy who Garner’s character does her best to improve.

Their chemistry is sweet and believable.

The ending is obvious, but that’s because “A Christmas Carol” has been revamped so many times.

Though predictable, it is still a nice holiday romantic comedy to sit through.
