The Next Accident is a novel by Lisa Gardner. I had not read too much by her in the past, but picked up The Next Accident at a library book sale.

      It was a great find.

The novel is very entertaining and definitely MUCH better than most romantic thrillers.

Romantic thrillers are not my favorite type of

novel because they are often very predictable.

But this one was an exception.

The plot revolves around two likable characters, a jaded FBI agent and a private investigator.

The romance plot was secondary to the mystery, which is the way I like it to be.

In the story, the villain was stalking and killing members of ...

      • the FBI agent’s family.

Pierce Quincy is a decorated agent and criminal profiler who has made many enemies over the years.

His daughter dies under mysterious circumstances, and then someone murders his ex-wife and frames him for the crime.

He realizes that an unknown enemy is stalking him and enlists the help of private investigator (and former

love interest) Rainie Conner to help uncover the criminal responsible.

He must try to protect his remaining daughter, his last remaining relative, and keep her alive.

I liked the book because it kept me guessing and it the villian was really smart and always seemed to be a step ahead of everyone.

The story was very suspenseful and enjoyable to read.
