  • He managed to get some relief at night with some strong cough syrup, but for the daytime, it was not a good idea because it contains a sleeping aid and it is not convenient to bring a bottle of liquid medicine with you when you are out of the house
  • I decided to look for something for daytime, thinking his co-workers would appreciate that effort
  • I bought the Echinacea Honey Lemon, and brought them home
  • I would recommend this medicine for anyone with a cough, or even a sore throat, as they sooth your throat as well

My husband caught a bad cold over the holidays, and was driving me crazy with his continuous coughing. He managed to get some relief at night with some strong cough syrup, but for the daytime, it was not a good idea because it contains a sleeping aid and it is not convenient to bring a bottle of liquid medicine with you when you are out of the house. I decided to look for something for daytime, thinking his co-workers would appreciate that effort. I stopped in at a Rexall drugstore because it was the first drugstore that

I saw. I looked through several brands of cough drops, and finally picked one that I had never heard of, called Rexall Cough Assist. There were three flavours, Echinacea Honey Lemon, Lemon Mint and Original Herb. The packages had 20 cough drops in each one, for just under $5. I mainly chose them because they had no sugar added, and also because some of the other, more well-known name brand drops never really worked for us before. I bought the Echinacea Honey Lemon, and brought them home.

I am happy to report that they worked very well. My ...

      • husband liked the taste better than any other cough drop he has used before, and it suppressed his cough well for about two hours at a time. He did have to suck on one about every two hours throughout the day, but because they don’t contain sugar, they are not unhealthy. Sure enough, as predicted, I caught the same cold a few days later. My cough wasn’t as bad, but I did have a rotten sore throat. He had gone through most of his Cough Assist, so I purchased some more for me. Even though my cough
wasn’t as bad, the cough drops soothed my sore throat. I would recommend this medicine for anyone with a cough, or even a sore throat, as they sooth your throat as well. I personally like the Original Herb better than the Honey Lemon, but they both do the trick.

Rexall Cough Assist cough drops work well to suppress coughs and sooth sore throats. They do require taking quite a few throughout the day, though, as they only seem to work for a few hours at a time. This medicine is available in Canada at Rexall Drugstores, IDA and PharmaPlus stores.
