  • I don't know that I believed that any name is necessarily a rich name or poor name but I did agree with the jacket that some names might cause people to prejudge you
  • I like the format the book is written in, there are 40 popular/common names and they tell you which page each name is on
  • For some of the names, the description was right on the money, every Holly I know acts just like the book said
  • It was easy to read and is a book I would recommend for entertainment purposes - you'll be a hit at parties

I picked up Rich Name, Poor Name because I have always been interested in the meanings of names since looking for baby names years ago. I don’t know that I believed that any name is necessarily a rich name or poor name but I did agree with the jacket that some names might

      cause people to prejudge you.

I like the format the book is written in, there are 40 popular/common names and they tell you which page each name is on.

I was able to go directly to the names I was interested in and that is what I did.

With each name, they give you the meaning of the name based on a mathematical formula and I wanted to see how close the descriptions were.

For some of the names, the description was right on the money, every Holly I know acts just like the book said.

Then they give you a list ...

of jobs that people with that name tend to do and that list was pretty close to what I know too! After starting with people that I did know, I had a chance to look up the names of some people I would just meet and see if I could guess what they
were like based on their names.

I turned out to be right a lot of the times so I am hoping that they do a second edition with some other names.

It was easy to read and is a book I would recommend for entertainment purposes - you’ll be a hit at parties.
