  • But, I talked to the very helpful people at Best Buy, and they assured me that a protective screen on the front would really help deter fingerprints, and they suggested I could possibly even get a stylis (I think that's what they are called), the little sticks that you can use to touch the screen with so you don't have to use your fingers
  • The camera on this phone is probably one of the best cameras I've come across on a phone, and I absolutely LOVED the photo editing software in the phone
  • And you can't sync the calender, but I don't use it that much so that wasn't a huge issue for me

I have always wanted a touch screen phone, but never bothered to get one in the past because I have serious obsessive compulisve problems and can’t stand the thought of fingerprints all over my phone! But, I talked to the very helpful people at Best Buy, and they assured me that a protective screen on the front would really help deter fingerprints, and they suggested I could possibly even get a stylis (I think that’s what they are called), the little sticks that you can use to touch the screen with so you don’t have to use your fingers. And, since we have several lines in our plan, and one of them is always up for an upgrade, I figured it couldn’t really hurt to take the leap and invest in a touchscreen phone. I’d had my eye on a Dare for a while, right when they came out, but didn’t want to pay the exaggerated upgrade fees

for it at the time, so ended up waiting another year until the fees were much more mild in comparison to the just-released costs. And I was excited to get it home and see how well it worked and how much fun it would be. It was also the first time I’d had a date package with my phone. In the past, I’d always only had unlimited texts, and that was about the extent of the features I used.

I liked the Dare, because it was small enough to fit in my pocket, and wasn’t heavy like an iphone is. Have you held an iphone? Those things feel like they weight a ton, and I didn’t want that kind of weight in my purse or on my person at all, so the lightweight was a nice touch. And the protective screen did help in keeping the fingerprints to a mimimum, though sometimes it got in the way of ...

      • the touchscreen working properly, and I would have to touch a button a couple times to get it to take. The camera on this phone is probably one of the best cameras I’ve come across on a phone, and I absolutely LOVED the photo editing software in the phone. Never had that before either, and it was a total plus. I had a camera stolen recently and rely on it for my home business, so in a pinch, I was able to use the phone on my camera and, though it wasn’t the crystal clear images I was used to getting with my actual camera, it worked well enough in the meantime, and the details were still noticeable. I also like to put music on my phone and this has a standard headphone jack, which I LOVED, because I have a very expensive pair of noise-reducing headphones that I wasn’t able to use with my previous phones that
required the earbuds specifically designed for the phone.

Really, my biggest gribe was the touchscreen. I eventually got rid of the protective screen, because it interferred too much, and just dealt with the fact I’d have fingerprints to wipe off on a constant basis. And even then, the screen was sensitive and you could accidentally hit the wrong button very easily. I’ve probably butt-dialed more people than I care to count, and I’ve even accidentally dialed and gone online just having my phone in my purse. It’s pretty necessary to invest in a hard case for this phone to store when not being actively used, because it’s much too easy to press something unintentionally. And you can’t sync the calender, but I don’t use it that much so that wasn’t a huge issue for me. Really, the only downside was the touchscreen, but all the features that came along with the phone were fantastic. Probably one of my favorite phones so far.
