I recently got hold of this perfume after testing it. I dunno why I purchased it outrightly. Perhaps in my head the smell that was clinging was the perfume my best friend tested and since all of what we tried was jumbled up, I may have sniffed what was in her wrist. This scent was released in 2008 from Jean Paul Gaultier. This was released to accentuate beginnings and endings of season. This scent was intended for a particular season. It was a mark for the start for a particular season and the beginning of an exciting life towards the end of the year. Whichever season it belongs, I always want to know the philosophy behind a certain scent. Isn’t it lovely to just sniff a particular scent and then imagine what is the story behind it? I do that often and there’s no better way to kick-start my anticipation of this than

to try it on my first day. There were lots of interpretation that came to my mind. Some mimicked authority for women. Another was strength but whatever that is the perfume has to be judge per se.

I only liked half part of this perfume. It features notes of rose and anise for top notes. Then orange blossoms and ginger for middle notes and vanilla and amber for base notes. It was a sweet beginning for me. It was moderately floral because I cannot decipher what anise was giving me. The scent escalates to a powdery smell but quite minty also then a little bit of amber then more of vanilla for the dry down. This was oriental floral. There was good entrance for this scent. I like rose very much, it was powerful and it has a smooth, curved shape. It also provides for fresh anticipation. Whenever rose is incorporated in a scent,

      • the quality of its floral category is something charming. It is the standard for a floral smell. A scent will never go wrong if it has rose on it. I did not like the orange blossoms fragrance. It turned the scent into a powdery concoction, vague and entangled. It gives you this messy imagination, unruly thinking and oftentimes causing my head to spin a little bit. The good thing there was ginger but it was so low. It did not register completely in the scent. As the scent dries up, you can sense a more powdery smell because of vanilla. It was not a clear floral smell but definitely oriental floral.

Expecting from the olfactive group to which it belongs, I am not surprised. This was released by the end of September for the autumn and winter season. This is very appropriate for the season intended because of its humid effects. However, the smell

is unclear and very vague like what I’ve said. What I did not like was the fact that it ramrod the oriental smell too fast and then it made the shifting of the scent confusing. It was complex for me because while I was enjoying the start, I was hit with deceptive notes. It would be more appropriate to have a loose oriental influence in the scent like perhaps a light vanilla undertone but in the scent it seems vanilla overpowered everything and it lacked the excitement of a modern scent. It was for me a maddeningly complex scent. It has loose beginnings but a rambling propelling ending. No doubt this is appropriate for the cold season and too strong for a scent but in terms of its beauty or the uniqueness of it, I would definitely say there is no revel in it. You will surely stumble in your thoughts creating an imagination for this scent.
