  • Across the street you will find Japanese restaurants, sushi bars, convenient stores, a supermarket, and even Starbucks
  • A fifteen-minute walk North will take you to the Central Station where you can then catch trains and buses to the airport, Hollywood, Rodeo Drive, and other interesting parts of the city
  • In my opinion, this unit could be easily converted into a four bedrooms unit and still feel very spacious
  • I found three other roommates to split the rent with me, this reduced our rent to only $650 per person per month – a great bargain consider its quality and location (downtown LA
  • The cost of living in Savoy might seem expensive initially, but if you are a student or a single working in downtown and don’t mind having roommates, then Savoy is your best bet

I lived in this condominium complex for a year while attending a nearby architecture school, and I felt this is the most luxurious, comfortable condo in the east downtown Los Angeles. The rent price at Savoy is slightly above average compared to other apartments nearby - approximately $2600/month for a two-bedroom unit, and $1600 for a one-bedroom studio with no wall partitions. But the high rent comes with outstanding public amenities such as a full size outdoor pool and Jacuzzi, fitness and yoga room, conference rooms, computer lab, movie lounge with billiards, rooftop patio, public kitchen with bar, and two outdoor BBQ stations; they all add up to a fantastic weekend party that will certainly impress your friends and visiting guests. To make the

condo feel more like an exclusive resort, the developer of Savoy brought in 25ft tall palm trees and water fountains to decorate its courtyards, installed cameras at every corner of the hallway, and hired security guards on duty 24/7, but sorry, no valet parking and concierge services, yet.

In terms of Savoy’s location, I never had trouble finding places to eat because it is conveniently situated adjacent to the Little Tokyo District. Across the street you will find Japanese restaurants, sushi bars, convenient stores, a supermarket, and even Starbucks. A fifteen-minute walk North will take you to the Central Station where you can then catch trains and buses to the airport, Hollywood, Rodeo Drive, and other interesting parts of the city. i much prefer ...

      • living in Savoy since its located in a more convenient and vibrant part of the inner city, as oppose to living near the downtown perimeter where most apartments are; the rent there its just as costly, and without the vitality and convenience.

I was living in the two-bedroom, two-bath unit with a living room, full kitchen (granite counter-top), washer and drier, and a loft space (bonus room). In my opinion, this unit could be easily converted into a four bedrooms unit and still feel very spacious; in fact, this is what I ended up doing. I found three other roommates to split the rent with me, this reduced our rent to only $650 per person per month – a great bargain consider its quality and

location (downtown LA!). In addition, it comes with two underground parking lots as a standard, one of which we rented out for $150 a month as an additional income. The cost of living in Savoy might seem expensive initially, but if you are a student or a single working in downtown and don’t mind having roommates, then Savoy is your best bet. I had friends who spend well over $750 per month living in a studio apartment nearby with only one bath between three other roommates, no wall partitions, no parking, and no public amenities. In my opinion, with $650 a month, there is just no other condo in the east downtown that could rival the quality of service and amenities that Savoy provides.
