      Since everyone but my youngest daughter was asleep this morning, I figured I would sit down and find a movie to watch on TV. After some searching, I ended up settling for the 1950s film Destination Moon.

      I wasn’t sure what to


      expect, but it turned out to be a decent movie.

      The film is about plans to put a man on the moon.

      Because of when it was made (a decade before the United States even made an effort to send someone to the moon), the material is obviously going to be a bit dated.

      For example, the astronauts in this movie are sent to the moon in a more traditional looking rocket (similar to what you would see in most science fiction movies made ...

      during that time) rather than what they really were sent to the moon in.

      However, I do like how the people making plans for the launch had to raise the money and even made their own promotional film starring Woody Woodpecker; a

      movie that explained the exact science behind sending someone to the moon.

      If you are bored one Saturday morning and there’s nothing else on TV, this is a movie that is definitely worth watching once; so you can understand just how far our space program has come.
