Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood episode 12 begins when Ed and Al arrive in Dublith to visit their teacher Izumi Curtis. Ed has a dream about his father Van Hohenheim. They go to Izumi and Sig Curtis’ shot “Happy Meat” where they’re greeted by Sig, because they committed the taboo of Human Transmutation, they’re afraid that their teacher will be furious with them. They are greeted by Izumi who kicks Ed in the head. After all the greetings are over they eat dinner and they try to hide their mistake from

their teacher. But Izumi has her own secrets and they will be revealed.

I love this episode it introduces one of my favorite Fullmetal Alchemist characters, Ed and Al’s alchemy teacher Izumi Curtis. She’s a strong person with a crazy personality, that’s what makes her so likable. Her character is more than she seems and has a lot of depth to her. The interaction between her and the Elric brothers is hysterically funny because she’s so crazy. This time, the story behind why she coughs up blood is even ...

      • more tragic than the previous series version of the story, although they are very similar. They did condense two episodes into one and it shows Ed and Al’s survival test on Yock Island quicker than it did in the first series, also the man on the island has been removed, which puzzles me because he was in the manga.

I loved this episode, it was just as good, if not a little better than the last series rendition of similar events. It was fun and entertaining with a lot more humor than

before. It establishes a very important character with the excellence that is expected from this show. I loved this episode, it was a great one. I’m so happy that Christine Auten is coming back to this role as Izumi Curtis for the English dub, it’s going to be a great one. This is a show that must be watched.

Funimation is streaming Fullmetal Alchemist on their website at Funimation.com/video under “Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood. The English dub will be out next year. You have to see this show, you won’t be disappointed.
