      Banta is a local folk game of pakistan. It is played in urban areas.

      When I was a child I used to play it and I really enjoyed playing it.

      I used to play it with my local friends.

      It was almost 16yrs back and at time I was only 4.

      This game is played with ten small crysrtal balls

      called “bante*”.

      nine balls are arranged in a circle and a line is drawn on the mud at a distance of almost 10 feets.

      One of my friend or even me used to stand at the line with one banta in his hand .

      then he have to throw it at the circle if it hits he has made ...

      • points.

        but if he dont then its turn for my other mate.

        and so in this way the game went on.

        While playing we often used to quarell with one another on the topic that who will play first and who will be second.

        at last a sloution to the dispute was obtained in a manner that we will

        run a race and child who wins will be first and all of us agreed.

        Now as years past the custom of game is slowly dying and now it is only played it in some of our villages.

        cricket is replacing its place… However I really enjoyed its company… {*A urdu word and to be honest I dont know its meaning yet}
