  • When the two combine, however, I think you have magic, though it's still rare to find a homeopathic-type product that works as well as regular over-the-coutner medication

  • He was pretty miserable this time around, unfortunately
  • I found Herbs for Kids Eldertussin Elderberry Syrup and liked it first because it's a syrup and, even at their age, my kids hate taking pills unless its absolutely necessary, and liked it because it was a sugar free syrup, which is almost unheard of these days
  • I've done a lot of research about elderberry overy the years, because herbalism is a pasttime of mine that I indulge in whenever time provides, and I know it has some fantastic healing qualities that just aren't implemented enough in modern medicine

I am by no means a homeopathic nut. Though I appreciate the effects that natural remedies can sometimes have, I also appreciate the effects of modern medicine. When the two combine, however, I think you have magic, though it’s still rare to find a homeopathic-type product that works as well as regular over-the-coutner medication. I have two children, one who is twelve and one who is fourteen. Though they are older now and able to take adult medication within reason, I’m still hesitant to allow this and prefer a children’s medication when possible, assuming the dosage is working and treating the problems at hand. Earlier this year, my oldest son got a cold and seemed to be pretty miserable. In our house, we tend to just ride the symptoms out, since there’s no cure

for the cold and you just have to let it run its course. If they symptoms are making us particularly miserable, however, then we invest in some medicine and try to treat the problem for as long as it exists. He was pretty miserable this time around, unfortunately. The head congestion, fever and headache was just a little more than he could handle, and he was moping around not eating, or culred up in bed for two days before I insisted he take something to make him feel better.

      • these days. I’ve done a lot of research about elderberry overy the years, because herbalism is a pasttime of mine that I indulge in whenever time provides, and I know it has some fantastic healing qualities that just aren’t implemented enough in modern medicine. My son was beginning to cough and his chest congestion was getting severe, on top of his other symptoms, and this Eldertussin was designed to treat infection in the lungs, and prevent cough and help soothe his throat so that “itchy” feeling he was getting wouldn’t spawn another coughing fit.

His throat was getting particularly sore, but when he took this syrup, he said he felt immediately better. I wasn’t expecting quite such a dramatic turn, but he said the discomfort was gone the minute the liquid went down his

throat. And, also surprising was the fact that it didn’t taste awful. Most cough syrups, lozenges or cough drops taste unbelievably medicinal and downright horrible, but this one was totally bareable on all levels. It didn’t numb his throat and it didn’t make all his food and drink taste funny because of the ingredients in the syrup, like so many other syrups have a tendency to do. He felt better immediately. It’s not designed to treat the head congestion, but once the sore throat and cough were taken care of, I think that stress off his body helped to really deal with the other problems as well, and he was feeling all-over better within a matter of days. I was very pleased with this product and love that it’s made using natural ingredients that WORK. Would try it again.
