  • When I heard the full-length More Than A Feeling on YouTube, I thought I had clicked on the wrong video because the beginning was different from what I've grown accustomed to hearing
  • I love the clapping part and that's when I heard those familiar words, More than a feeling
  • I think when people hear the song, they will assume it's about get lost in a daydream while listening a familiar song, but in the chorus the guy makes a reference to getting lost in a daydream while listening to the song until he remembers Marianne walking away
  • I like it because I think anyone who has been in a relationship has that one song in which you and your significant other share

“More Than A Feeling” Performer: Boston

I have to admit I had no idea who the music group Boston was before I saw the trailer for the movie, “Men Who Stare At Goats”. Every time I would see the trailer for “Men Who Stare At Goats”, I would hear this catchy tune which blended in perfectly with the trailer; yet I couldn’t get the song out of my head. I went online searching for the song by the little bit of lyrics I did hear, but came up empty-handed. It wasn’t until I went on Google and typed in the

phrase: What is the song from the Men Who Stare At Goats trailer; it was “More Than A Feeling by Boston.

When I heard the full-length “More Than A Feeling” on YouTube, I thought I had clicked on the wrong video because the beginning was different from what I’ve grown accustomed to hearing: it was a slow, steady guitar playing with a mellow voice singing the verse. I just knew I had the wrong song until the song came to a break before the chorus; it was like a guitar solo mixed in with other instruments and something that sounded ...

      • like someone clapping. I love the clapping part and that’s when I heard those familiar words, “More than a feeling”. I was jumping out of my seat because I had finally found the full-length version.

The song is about a guy who lost the love of his life, Marianne, and the “familiar song” he is listening to is a painful reminder of the day she left him. I think when people hear the song, they will assume it’s about get lost in a daydream while listening a “familiar” song, but in the chorus the guy makes a reference to getting

lost in a daydream while listening to the song until he remembers Marianne walking away. I like it because I think anyone who has been in a relationship has that one song in which you and your significant other share; when it’s over, all you have is the song as a painful reminder of memories. I can definitely relate.

Overall, I like “More Than A Feeling”; I find myself listening to it repeatedly and clapping away. It’s just a fun, upbeat song that is so fun to listen to and it puts me in a good mood every time I hear it.
