  • It might be supporting this milky smell which I think coconut made it possible
  • I was impressed with how good coconut worked in the mixture of notes and even when it touches my skin

After jasmine, gardenia is one of my favorite floral scent. It seems there is this girly characteristic it possess. It would be an understatement to say that this captures the feminine side but true it does. If you survey most of the floral perfumes, more often than not, gardenia is among the notes but because it is being tossed up with several notes, the main smell is more supporting. The power of gardenia to refine, balance and fix and accentuate compostitions with adding a heavy smell is exceptional. Chanel has “The Exclusives” which takes gardenia as the main star in a perfume. This collection varies entirely. It was said that this was a dedication to Chanel’s favorite flower.

The scent starts with a grassy smell, fresh and energizing. Then berries, coconut and gardenia is the middle notes. Then it

contains vanilla for the base notes. The opening deserves too much appreciation. I would say there was a combination of sensuality and warmth even in simple terms like an opening. This kind of grassy smell is light and cool but retains this common characteristic of dark, warm idea. Then when the scent starts to do its segue, gardenia melts like the butter in your pancake. It was the most apparent middle note. I had skepticism when I knew that coconut was one of the notes because it often dry too much on my skin and gives a bad reaction with other notes. This was not the case because like what I’ve said, gardenia was dominating the segue. Then for dry down, I don’t feel vanilla at all. It might be supporting this milky smell which I think coconut made ...

      • it possible. This scent is like a slice of extreme notes like fruity berry and milky coconut to warm vanilla. If you examine this notes, they belong to fruity or oriental category but surprisingly, the scent remains floral. The eccentricities of all the notes gave a motivation in making this perfume more appreciated. Most of the stages in the scent were pretty and very beautiful. This is a sophisticated floral smell with thoughtful ideas and gentler touch. The smell can be characterized as something amiably sweet. Gardenia is more refined in this context, more accepted and more polished from its common and most often used fragrance in ordinary things. It is like taking gardenia in an upscale concoction and giving it a sharp contrast. There is also a meticulous detail in this fragrance that makes it too involving for
you. It hooks you the first time you smell it. There is this luminous vivacity to the presence of gardenia as a main inspiration. It never fades in the background like other floral scent does.

I was impressed with how good coconut worked in the mixture of notes and even when it touches my skin. Michael Kors has this perfume which also has coconut as one of its notes and it really gave me oily skin and it stinks when it reaches my skin. This one from Chanel does not and it supports this light milky fragrance but very light which almost is not important. All I can say is that the mixture of gardenia is rarely genuine that it encompasses all other floral scents. It is light but bears a strong formidable effect and has a great lasting power too.
