I wasn’t sure what to expect from the new movie Star Trek this past weekend. I have seen so many attempts to re-make other movies that have gone wrong and I was afraid they might have tried to take on too big of a challenge.

However, I have to admit, this

      movie wasn’t too bad.

Rather than starting over from the beginning, the writers had a plot that fit right in with the Star Trek franchise.

Spock and some Romulans travel back in time and end up changing history so Kirk and the original Star Trek crew are essentially starting fresh and ...

      • can go on new adventures without necessarily tackling the adventures the original Star Trek cast did.

It was fantastic because it created a new movie franchise while paying tribute to the Star Trek movies and television shows that came before it.

There was a pretty decent cast (though I will always

picture the guy who played Sulu as Harold from Harold and Kumar go to White Castle) and the acting, while not fantastic, was much better than expected considering the film still relied heavily on special effects.

If you haven’t seen this movie, you should.

You are missing something great if you think it won’t be any good.
