Baccano! Is a Japanese anime that tells the story about a group of individuals riding on a commuter train, the Flying Pussyfoot. It’s a train traveling from Chicago to New York in 1932. The story is about a huge gang war that is brewing between the Gandor and the Genoard mafia families with other gangs and the rival Martilo Family caught in the middle while people begin disappearing because of the murderous, mysterious Rail Tracer. Meanwhile, pair of thieves, Isaac and Miria try to aid the passengers while trying not to get killed. Meanwhile an alchemist who discovered a formula to

become immortal tries to get it back after it’s stolen by members of the mafia.

This show is terrific, it’s got plenty of action, suspense, drama and an interesting story. The story time skips back and forth between the past and the present. It’s a spectacle that can only be understood when you watch it. It’s array of colorful and interesting characters makes it an entertaining ride. The interesting thing about this anime is that it’s set in America, and that it’s about the American mafia. The English dub is incredible and many voice actors put on very good accents.

      • Todd Haberkorn is perfectly cast as Firo Prochainezo, a young man who seeks to move up the ranks of the Martilo family. Brina Palencia plays Ennis, a mysterious girl who seems to know what’s going on and she’s an interesting character. J. Michael Tatum plays Isaac Dian and Catlin Glass plays Miria Harvent, two Bonnie and Clyde-like thieves who don’t seem to know what’s going on.

The show is very well-animated, and has a good art style. The story is very interesting and intriguing, the twists and turns and surprises make Baccanio unique. The voice acting and music is memorable, you’ll

be entertained from the start right from the first notes of the opening theme “Gun’s&Roses” by Paradise Lunch to the ending theme “Calling” by Kaori Oda. This show is very good, definitely worth watching. This show is not for young viewers and it’s recommended for ages 18 and up. The graphic violence and the language make this show for adults. It’s still an excellent show; older audiences will like this one. Baccano! is a fine anime and one definitely worth watching.

Funimation is streaming Baccano! dubbed on It’s also on YouTube in Japanese with English subtitles and dubbed.
