  • Unfortunately, the mattresses on those beds are uncomfortably hard

    • by Michael Strauss

The Crowne Plaza in Columbus Ohio gave me the worst night’s sleep I have ever experienced at a hotel. That is really the only thing I disliked about this hotel, but that was enough to prevent me from ever returning again.

Every year, I go to a convention at the Greater Columbus Convention

Center and the Crowne Plaza is conveniently located across the street, with a skyway connection. This convenience makes it a good choice for anyone attending a convention. In addition, the Crowne Plaza has spacious rooms, queen sized beds, and good showers.

Unfortunately, the mattresses on those beds are uncomfortably hard. In ...

      • addition to this major flaw, the hotel has a very small pool given the size of the hotel and does not have attached parking. Parking is in a nearby parking garage maintained by another company. Still, I would have overlooked these small problems if the bed were comfortable. Instead, I
was tired and sore all day long from my poor night’s sleep.

For a single night or as a last minute choice, this is still better than just about any motel. But, if you have time prepare, both the Drury and the Hyatt, also attached to the convention center are better hotels for comparable prices.
