I love reading and watching productions of Shakespeare plays particularly at the Oregon Shakespeare Festival in Ashland, OR. Naturally, there are many Shakespeare related souvenirs such as coffee cups, postcards, books and the like, but my favorite, and the favorite of many people, is a T-shirt that’s been for sale for the

      last few years.

It’s a simple black T-shirt, with red letters quoting from Shakespeare, “The First Thing We Do is Kill All of the Lawyers.

” It’s rare to walk the streets of Ashland during the summer without seeing one or two or even more of these t-shirts.

What I find interesting is that these T-shirts are almost universally loved by everyone who sees them.

I know of one attorney who bought enough T-shirts to take home to his partners and staff.

I have had a lot of complete strangers come up to talk to me when I’m wearing my shirt.

      Rarely, when I’m wearing my t-shirt ...

has it been the case that no one came up to talk.

In this world where people are so often isolated from each other, I find it refreshing to talk to strangers.

Over the years, I’ve worn out two of these shirts am starting to thing that it’s time to buy another.

      The

best place to buy this shirt, if you’re interested is to visit the festival of course.

I believe you can buy them online.

If you’re interested, try googling “Tudor Guild” and you should be able to find a t-shirt you can buy.

Oh, and by the way, you are looking for the quotation in Shakespeare, it’s from Henry VI, part 2.
